First Class Honors, (1988) in Physics from the University of Hong Kong and
her MSc and Ph.D. (1996) in Physics from Princeton University, United
States.
Her research interest and expertise lie in various areas of soft condensed
matter physics, including wetting properties of surfaces, dewetting
stability of liquid films, novel methods for liquid crystal alignment,
dynamics of polymer ultra thin films, phase separation in thin films of
block copolymers or polymer blends, surface and frustration induced
orientational ordering in polymer films. She also specializes in various
applications of atomic force microscope such as nano-mechanics,
nanotribology and nanolithography.
Dr. Tsui is an Associate Professor of the Department of Physics at both
Boston University, U.S.A. and the Hong Kong University of Science and
Technology. She is a frequent speaker at seminars and workshops in the Far
East including China, and in the United States. Her publications consist not
only of book chapters but also journal articles. Dr. Tsui lectures in
