Physics Consultant

Dr. Ophelia Tsui received her BSc, First Class Honors, (1988) in Physics from the University of Hong Kong and her MSc and Ph.D. (1996) in Physics from Princeton University, United States.

Her research interest and expertise lie in various areas of soft condensed matter physics, including wetting properties of surfaces, dewetting stability of liquid films, novel methods for liquid crystal alignment, dynamics of polymer ultra thin films, phase separation in thin films of block copolymers or polymer blends, surface and frustration induced orientational ordering in polymer films. She also specializes in various applications of atomic force microscope such as nano-mechanics, nanotribology and nanolithography.

Dr. Tsui is an Associate Professor of the Department of Physics at both Boston University, U.S.A. and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She is a frequent speaker at seminars and workshops in the Far East including China, and in the United States. Her publications consist not only of book chapters but also journal articles. Dr. Tsui lectures in Physics.

Dr. Tsui’s working languages are English, Chinese and Cantonese.
