In 2002 Johnny Wong obtained his BSc degree in Biology from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He then went onto the University of Hong Kong and graduated in 2005 with a MPhil in Medicine.

Since 2002, Johnny's working experience has included being a project assistant in the Department of Biology, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, a research assistant in the cardiology division of the Department of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong, and a research assistant in the medical engineering programme, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Hong Kong. During his studies for his Masters degree he participated in various researches on stem cell therapy of cardiovascular disease including in vitro and in vivo studies of stem cell differentiation in myocardial infarction model. Johnny has also worked in Bio-Rad Limited as a product specialist in the life science team, where he was responsible for technical support on protein diagnostic products as well as genes diagnostic products.

Johnny has assisted in drafting and translating patent documents in the fields of biotechnology, and his working languages are English, Chinese and Cantonese.
